For dog retailers, groomers, and boutiques
Say cheese, for dogs.
Squeak N Snap is a handheld camera accessory. One squeeze fires the squeak and the phone's shutter at the same instant. The dog looks up, and the photo is already taken.

Watch it work
Pooja walks you through it
Thirty seconds, start to finish. She holds it up next to her phone, squeezes once, and shows you the photo it took of the dog.
What is in the boxThe kit itself, and how one squeeze fires the squeak and the shutter together.
A real reactionWe stopped a dog owner on the street, asked whether her dog ever looks at the camera, and handed her one.
How it works
A plush character named Murph with a real squeaker inside and a Bluetooth camera shutter built into the same body. It is a camera accessory. The person holds it, not the dog.
Pair it once
It connects over Bluetooth like any wireless shutter, in about twenty seconds. No app to download, no account, no subscription.
Hold it beside the lens
Phone in one hand, Murph in the other, held up next to the camera so the dog's eyes go exactly where you want them.
Squeak and shutter together
That instant is the whole product. Ears come up, and the frame is already captured instead of a second too late.

The problem it solves
Every dog owner has forty-seven photos of the same dog and not one they would frame. Blurry, mid-blink, looking off at nothing.
It is not a camera problem, it is a timing problem. By the time someone makes a noise, gets the phone back up, and taps, the dog has already moved on. Squeak N Snap closes the gap between the sound and the shutter.
Safety and specifications
Held by a person, never given to the dog
Squeak N Snap is a camera accessory. It is not sold, packaged, or marketed as a dog toy, it is not intended to be chewed, and it is not tested as a chew product.
Battery compartment
The Bluetooth shutter runs on a coin cell in a secured compartment built to UL 4200A, the standard written into Reese's Law for child-resistant coin cell enclosures. The cell is user-replaceable, so the unit does not become disposable.
The welfare question
People do ask whether it is unkind to squeak something and not hand it over. A squeak is a cue, the same as a name or a clicker, and it works because it is novel, so it gets used once or twice rather than on a loop. Our answer is always the same: take the photo, then give the dog a treat or a real toy.
Where it came from
My husband built the first one about thirteen years ago for a friend who had three rescue huskies and could not get a single Christmas photo where all three looked at the camera. I hand-stitched the first ones at our dining table.
It took three years to get the mechanism right. Early factory samples fired the squeak and the shutter about seven times out of ten, and seven out of ten is not a product. That version ended up in stores at Bed Bath & Beyond and in subscription boxes, and then phones dropped the headphone jack and the whole thing went in the garage.
Our kids found the box a couple of years ago. We rebuilt it on Bluetooth, and here we are.
